I earned my graduate degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy in 2015. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#113415) and I have worked with clients of different ages; individuals, couples and families in my counseling practice. I have facilitated adolescent support groups, treatment center group therapy and have led parent psycho-education workshops as I find that the more involved I am in today's subcultures, the more I grow as a therapist.
From experience, I know how important practicing self-care and remaining consistently aware of thoughts, feelings and actions are! Being healthy takes work...but it is the most rewarding path you will ever choose to adventure down!
A little bit about myself... I grew up in Southern California and I am a mother of two, both now full grown adults! I knew that I wanted to be in the mental health field from a young age, but life happened and it took me some time to reach this particular goal on my journey. I have experienced curve balls of my own and I am a deep believer that my own growth has stemmed from the challenges that I have overcome and the walls that I have broken through. Community has been very important in my life, having an amazing support system has been enriching and life-altering. Sometimes when we can't see something in ourselves, we are able to look through someone else's eyes temporarily & that's where strength can be found to move forward. That is what this work does for me, on a personal level, it gives me an opportunity to remind clients what they may have forgotten about themselves....that they have strengths, they have potential and they have the ability to move in a positive direction....sometimes it just takes support and guidance.
"I am not what happened to me,
I am what I choose to become"
